JOB SNAPSHOT:
As a Field Service Technician specializing in electronic building IT systems (Ethernet and WiFi Network Infrastructure, Access Control, Surveillance, VoIP, Audio/Visual, Structured Cabling), you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of such systems at various client locations. Your primary goal will be to complete the physical installation of these systems by collaborating both internally and with 3rd parties to test and ensure their functionality, as intended.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Installation:
Install various building IT systems parts and smarts, inclusive of wiring/terminations and structured cabling.
Work with 3rd party contractors as necessary to coordinate differing scope of work and/or additional manpower to achieve project schedules.
2. Maintenance, Repairs, and Client Support:
Make service calls as required to troubleshoot and repair system components on an on-going basis.
Support the customer service team by addressing service tickets in a timely manner.
Provide on-site and remote support to clients, addressing their inquiries, concerns, and service requests promptly.
Offer training and guidance to clients and end-users on operating the systems.
3. System Testing and Quality Assurance:
Test newly-installed systems to ensure they meet the client's requirements and specifications.
Verify all system's functionality and integrations.
4. Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance, repairs, and service reports.
Update and document system configurations and changes as needed.
5. Inventory Management:
Manage inventory of equipment, tools, and spare parts.
Request and procure necessary supplies and equipment for service calls.
REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or equivalent (technical education or relevant certifications are a plus).
Proven experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of building IT systems. Experience with access control systems or similar security systems is a plus.
Knowledge of access control technologies, protocols, and security best practices.
Industry certifications such as Certified Access Control Technician (CACT) or Certified Protection Professional (CPP), preferred.
Knowledge of networking and IT fundamentals related to an array of building IT systems, preferred.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting wiring diagrams and blueprints.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
